Eighty-one year old woman with a chest discomfort syndrome often years duration accepted in transfer from an outside hospital. Further evaluation confirmed the presence of unstable angina and the patient subsequently underwent cardiac catheterization and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty to the left anterior descending coronary artery. Medications at the time of her hospital transfer included triamterene/ hydrochlorothiazide, metoprolol and ibuprofen.
