Seventy-two year old gentleman with advanced peripheral vascular disease who is admitted to the hospital for a semi-elective below the knee amputation. His past medical history includes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a remote myocardial infarction and prior pacemaker placement. His medications included quinidine and digoxin.
